- ➤ Mount Pleasant police arrested a Hispanic man on June 15 after complaints that his black Toyota Tundra blocked traffic along N. Hwy 17 and Long Point Road while he slept at the wheel and failed field sobriety tests + he admitted drinking five Coronas and refused a breath sample, which led to a DUI 1st charge and license suspension. - ➤ A high-speed chase began just before 7 p.m. when police tried to stop a driver speeding on Helm Avenue and the pursuit led to a minor collision on Maggie Road in Mount Pleasant—then the suspect fled into a wooded area and evaded capture—authorities said. WCIV
