- ➤ Underground Chuck’s held its ribbon-cutting event on Thursday in the Charleston area, drawing local leaders, neighbors & supporters. The celebration featured raffle prizes, appetizer tastings and a $2,500 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of the Crescent Region. WCIV

- ➤ Local award-winning author Dr. Newman is celebrated for his new novel Boys—a multigenerational saga about two brothers navigating life through the Great Depression, segregation, and civil rights movements that has earned Gold Medals from Nautilus and Next Generation Independent Book Awards. - ➤ Last week, over 60 school counselors, psychologists, social workers and support staff attended a full-day workshop at CCSD led by The Citadel’s Dr. Guy Ilagan and Director Heather Anderson on suicide assessment and safety planning; the training used national best practices to boost student safety + ethical decision-making skills. - ➤ Shifa Free Clinic, December's Community Partner, will host a holiday giveaway on Dec. 12—offering food, diapers and free health screenings, vision tests and vaccinations at its Lowcountry location. The nonprofit has grown to a 13-person staff that helps thousands each year. WCIV
