- ➤ Shifa Clinic will host its annual Holiday Giveaway on Friday to offer toys, fresh food, and health screenings to community members. The event is designed to support local residents during the festive season. WCIV
- ➤ On Wednesday night, two local churches opened warming shelters as temperatures dropped below 34 degrees. Hibben United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant and Seacoast Church in Summerville provided hot meals, beds, clothing, and pet care with free vaccinations for pets and CARTA rides available. WCIV

- ➤ Local artist Michael Gray, inspired by his teen study trip to London with impressionist painters like Monet, continues to paint Lowcountry landscapes in his Darrell Creek studio and mentors young art students (encouraging them to plan for solid careers). Moultrie News

- ➤ Students at Morningside Middle School are learning robotics and AI through the Palmetto AI Pathways Program (a partnership among SC Competes, IT-oLogy, and USC) that offers hands-on labs with a dancing robotic dog and coding lessons to boost STEM career interest. - ➤ The Charleston County Library is hosting a holiday book sale at Wando Library today from 4 to 7 p.m. for members only, with open sales on Dec. 5 (9:30 a.m.–5 p.m.) and Dec. 6 (9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.) offering paperbacks at $1 and hardcovers at $4 to support library programs. WCIV
- ➤ Wando High School’s AFJROTC and Lucy Beckham High School’s CGJROTC will host the Wando Warrior Challenge on Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school stadium, where 400+ cadets from 16 schools will showcase drills, a 5k run, and more (free and open). Moultrie News

- ➤ Starting Feb. 1, travelers without a REAL ID, passport, or green card will pay a $45 fee when passing through security at South Carolina airports (97% of local travelers already have proper documentation). The TSA said the fee covers new screening technology and avoids using taxpayer money. WCIV

- ➤ The FDA announced on Monday that Great Lakes Cheese Co. has recalled shredded cheese sold at major retailers such as Walmart, Publix, and Aldi because products may contain metal fragments — South Carolina stores are included, so local shoppers should verify their purchases. WCIV

- ➤ A new survey of 3,002 shoppers names Millie Lynn Boutique as Mount Pleasant’s top independent store for affordable winter fashion; the boutique at 1608 Palmetto Grande Drive offers bright+chic designs favored by locals amid cooler weather, leading other regional favorites. Moultrie News

- ➤ A century-old oak tree was moved 750 feet using a patented Arbor Lift process to become the focal point for Gather MTP on Midtown Avenue. The 5,000-pound tree was relocated Wednesday and the community space will open in early 2027. WCIV
