  • The 88 Club will hold its early-bird meeting on Dec. 3 at Sunrise Bistro in Mount Pleasant where wildlife biologist Janet Thibault will update on the Crab Bank restoration and coastal conservation. On Dec. 17, Rev. Katie Brock Lesh will speak about the cold weather shelter sponsored by Hibben United Methodist Church (club meets on the first and third Wednesdays each month) (attendees will pay for their own breakfast).  Moultrie News

  • Charleston International Airport experienced a 9% rise in travelers yesterday and is expecting one of its busiest Thanksgiving weeks as travelers face long lines and limited parking; officials advise arriving early and using the free baggage check-in service—CHS Check and Go—for faster security clearance.  WCIV

  • Law enforcement officials warn that Blackout Wednesday—when alcohol-related road incidents spike on the night before Thanksgiving—poses a real danger, especially for young drivers, and they urge everyone to drive safely and call 911 if they see an impaired driver.  WCIV

  • Colorectal cancer survivor Courtney Smith in Charleston has been receiving plant-based meals each week from AMOR Healing Kitchen, Inc.—a nonprofit that relies on volunteers—to support her treatment.  The Post and Courier
  • SeeMe3D in Summerville offers high-definition ultrasound images that let expecting parents share a special moment with their families—owner Mary Shirah says the clinic uses advanced AI for 8K imaging and welcomes clients from Summerville, Mount Pleasant, and Beaufort. The family-owned clinic aims to make a stressful prenatal period more intimate and reassuring for its clients.  Moultrie News
  • A local Medicare insurance agent warned that many Medicare Advantage plans vanished mid enrollment, leaving seniors with fewer choices and higher costs. He said insurers removed approved plans for financial reasons and the state department reminded companies to keep options available — prompting calls for CMS intervention.  WCIV

SPORTS NEWS

  • The South Carolina Stingrays will return home Friday to the North Charleston Coliseum for Glow Night against the Greensboro Gargoyles—players will wear limited-edition glow-in-the-dark jerseys while fans can purchase glow night gear and the first 2,000 attendees receive a light-up Thunderstix. The game marks their return after a four-game road trip and will also feature an auction of the special jerseys.  WCIV
