- ➤ Shateka Husser Financial Solutions in partnership with New American Funding and The Chatman Group will hold a free retirement planning workshop for veterans and career professionals aboard the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum on November 13 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. (Only 50 seats are available) (Veterans have priority registration). GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Mount Pleasant officials approved a $3,367,044.81 bid on Nov. 3 for IPW Construction Group to build a 10‑foot concrete shared‑use path along Mathis Ferry Road that will add amenities such as benches and water fountains—boardwalk segments and tree-saving shifts in the alignment were included to protect trees, with work expected to last 12 months. - ➤ The FDA announced a recall of Häagen-Dazs Chocolate Dark Chocolate Mini Bars from Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream because they may have undeclared wheat — the 6-count bars with batch code LLA519501 and a Best By date of January 31 were sold at retailers including Kroger in South Carolina. Customers with wheat allergies are urged to return or discard the product for a full refund. WCBD
