ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Capital Development Partners celebrated the grand opening of the Shipyard Creek Logistics Center and East Coast Warehouse and Distribution on Monday, an event that is expected to create 300 jobs in Charleston County over three years — with plans to add 80 to 100 roles in the next year. WCIV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Dorchester District Two leaders delayed plans to build a new elementary school in the Yerby Tract due to housing delays — instead, they will expand classrooms at Knightsville and William Reeves Elementary. The district will repurpose James H. Spann Elementary into an education center and reassign its students while board members vote on the proposal in December — officials say the change will address enrollment growth and safety concerns. - ➤ The Mount Pleasant Garden Club received certification from the National Wildlife Federation for the library’s front round garden on Anna Knapp Boulevard. The certification shows the garden meets all wildlife habitat requirements — it provides water sources, nectar plants and shelter for local critters. Moultrie News

- ➤ The FDA recalled Neutrogena Makeup Remover Ultra-Soft Cleansing Towelettes sold in South Carolina after tests showed lot 1835U6325A may have bacteria that can cause serious infections—Kenvue said the recall was made out of caution. The Post and Courier
- ➤ Local emergency veterinarians advise pet owners to store candy safely and keep pets in secure spaces during Halloween—warning that exposure to sweets can lead to hyperactivity, vomiting, and anxiety. They recommend creating a safe room and removing any treats your pet might access to prevent dangerous symptoms. WCIV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Palmetto Christian Academy’s varsity volleyball team won a region championship with a three-set win over Northwood Academy last week and went undefeated in the SCISA state playoffs from Oct. 24-25 by beating five opponents (including Ben Lippen twice) by an average score of 25.3-20.9. The Lady Eagles advance to the AAAA state championship game today against Cardinal Newman at a neutral site yet to be determined. Moultrie News
