- ➤ The Lucy Beckham Bazaar will take place on Saturday, November 8 from noon to 5 p.m. at Lucy Beckham High School Track on 1560 Mathis Ferry Road in Mount Pleasant, featuring live performances, food vendors, and community booths sponsored by Tri-County Therapy Services — Elizabeth Baker. - ➤ Residents in Toler’s Cove reported a five-foot iguana was abandoned on October 7 after a vehicle dropped a bag near a pond, and they are now searching for the reptile while animal control was called but missed it. Neighbors have set out food and are reviewing security camera footage to identify the person responsible + plan to relocate the iguana safely once found. WCBD
- ➤ On Oct. 7, Mount Pleasant and Isle of Palms police hosted a NationalNightOut in East Cooper where first responders engaged local citizens with family-friendly activities, live demonstrations and public safety tips. The event helped officers build community ties by advising a 9 p.m. routine of locked doors—lights on to prevent property crime. Moultrie News

- ➤ Colliers reported that Charleston’s office market continues to recover with strong demand for Class A and B spaces + a new downtown delivery at Morrison Yard now asks $70.00 per SF. Out-of-market tenants from cities like Boston and New York drive Class A asking rents to $34.05 per SF while suburban submarkets also rebound. Moultrie News

- ➤ South Carolina’s Superintendent Ellen Weaver now faces a lawsuit after Regulation 43-170 led to 22 books being banned from public school libraries. The lawsuit claims the rule—which stops books with sexual conduct from being used in classrooms—violates First Amendment rights and has positioned the state as a leader in book bans. WCIV

- ➤ SCDNR extended the closure of the eastern end of Crab Bank until November 15 to protect brown pelican chicks still developing from a delayed nesting season—public access to the western end will resume on October 16 as planned. WCBD

They uncovered that a rusted Navy vessel from Yonges Island was removed—while a state senator’s unattended sailboat from Johns Island Creek was destroyed after new watercraft laws took effect. - ➤ Mitch Gibson, 26, has been loaned from Hershey to the South Carolina Stingrays after posting a 12-1-0 record and a .933 save percentage last season (he became the 16th ECHL goaltender to score a goal).
