Good morning, Mount Pleasant.
💼 Business
The Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce recently hired Elliot J.
Seay as its new Membership and Engagement Manager. He will lead efforts to strengthen member relations & drive regional business growth.
🌲 Environment
After recent rain and cooling temperatures, Mount Pleasant lawns, athletic fields, and golf courses face potential damage from army worms that thin the grass canopy.
Experts advise homeowners and groundskeepers to treat affected areas in the evening with proven pest control products — and to apply preemerge herbicides now to deter winter weeds.
🏛️ Government
During a recent Police, Judicial and Legal Committee meeting, Mount Pleasant leaders discussed privacy concerns over the town’s 22 Flock cameras.
Police Chief Mark Arnold said the cameras helped solve cases — his remarks clarified that current safeguards limit data sharing.
🏥 Health
The Palmetto Garden Club launched an ovarian cancer awareness campaign this September at the Wando Library and during a local meeting (honoring community members affected by cancer).
The club urges residents to learn the signs and seek advice if changes occur.
