- ➤ The Charleston County Public Library will host its first Teen Book Sale on Oct. 11 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Wando Mount Pleasant Library at 1400 Carolina Park Blvd — teens in grades 6 to 12 can shop for a variety of books, donate used books for a free t-shirt, and join a craft activity. - ➤ Dangerous tropical weather is raising concerns as Hurricane Humberto, a Category 4 storm with 145 mph winds, moves near the northern Leeward Islands while another system is set to strengthen and approach the Southeast; Gov. Henry McMaster declared a state of emergency and crews in Charleston are gathering sandbags and checking pumps ahead of potential heavy rains and flooding. Local officials are preparing for life-threatening surf and rip currents along the coast. WCBD
