Funeral arrangements for attorney Joe Rice, co-founder of the local law firm Motley Rice, were announced after his unexpected death last week.
The funeral will be held Monday, Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Charleston Gailliard Center (a celebration of life follows from 3 to 7).
🎭 Culture
Nate Bargatze will headline Credit One Stadium on Sept.
26 + he becomes the first comedian to perform there as he rides a record-breaking tour that recently set a Guinness World Record for most stand-up tickets sold.
🌲 Environment
On Sept. 19, the 37th annual Beach Sweep/River Sweep cleanup will take place at nearly 100 sites (including a local event along the causeway connecting Mount Pleasant and Sullivan's Island) as thousands of volunteers remove plastic and glass from beaches and waterways statewide.
🏛️ Government
At Sept. 8, the council discussed future plans for the 38-acre Faison Road site across from Restore at Carolina Park.
Options ranged from a YMCA and walking trails to other community spaces, and officials agreed to issue a new RFP to explore the best fit for the neighborhood.
