- ➤ Mount Pleasant's Crush Yard will host the Smashing Hunger Pickleball Tournament on Sept 13 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. — players and fans will join in competitive and social brackets to raise funds for Meals on Wheels and support local seniors. WCIV
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Christ Episcopal Church in Mount Pleasant will celebrate its 300th anniversary on Oct. 4—marking its rise from a 1725 fire—and will begin a $300,000 capital campaign to install a new copper roof. Moultrie News
- ➤ Charleston County Parks Foundation will host Evening at McLeod on Sept 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at McLeod Plantation Historic Site to raise funds for its Cultural History Fund; the event will feature musical works by local artists and hors d'oeuvres from Carolina's Lowcountry Cuisine—tickets cost $75.
