- ➤ On Sept. 1, East Cooper Habitat for Humanity and Charleston Habitat for Humanity merged to form Charleston Habitat for Humanity—this new group will build more homes and complete more repairs for families in the Lowcountry. The organization will keep both retail stores open at 731 Meeting Street in Charleston and 469 Long Point Road in Mount Pleasant. Moultrie News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Margarette Cooper, 84, was thrown to the ground at The Artisan Senior Living Community and died from her injuries, and her family now seeks accountability through their attorney—local police are investigating the case. WCIV
- ➤ On Aug. 31, an employee at Blue Coastal Bar and Grill found a broken side door, a missing safe with cash and liquor, and police processed the scene at 1905 Highway 41—collecting fingerprints and reviewing a 14-second video that showed a man with a distinct walk who resembled a former employee fired in April while additional footage linked a white Toyota Camry to the incident.
