- ➤ Heavy traffic was seen on two interstates Tuesday morning as crashes and a broken-down vehicle delayed commuters returning to school and work after the holiday weekend—one crash near the Don Holt Bridge slowed I-526 while a vehicle breakdown atop the Wando River Bridges backed up traffic on I-26. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Montez Desmond Ladson, 26, from Hollywood was arrested on Sept. 2 and charged with leaving the scene of a July 12 hit-and-run that killed Tyler Talley, 41—vehicle parts from a 2015 Infiniti Q50 were recovered and Ladson was booked at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center. WCIV
- ➤ An 84-year-old woman in a Mount Pleasant memory care facility died in late August after another resident grabbed her collar and threw her to the ground — local officials said the Mount Pleasant Police Department now is investigating the death as a crime. WCIV
- ➤ Mount Pleasant Police arrested former Berkeley County deputy Jeffrey Wilson after a victim at Metto Coffee and Tea—on Coleman Boulevard—reported on August 18 that she saw him expose his genitalia from the bottom of his cargo shorts, confront him, and that he later apologized and left; he was subsequently charged with indecent exposure and released on a $5,000 bond.
