- ➤ A ride-share vehicle mistakenly drove into Moran Creek from the Isle of Palms Marina parking lot after 9 p.m. Saturday during heavy rain—good Samaritans rescued the driver who later received minor treatment at a local hospital—and Isle of Palms police, fire crew, and the U.S. Coast Guard responded with no reported environmental damage. - ➤ A Mount Pleasant resident discovered his yellow 2003 Honda NSS250 was missing after he last saw it on Aug. 20 at 8 p.m. on Hidden Cove Drive—police said no security cameras captured the theft and he was advised to let investigators follow up on a possible suspect. Moultrie News
- ➤ A Moncks Corner man, Eric Gerard Parrilla, is in custody and faces ten charges after a Walmart firearm incident on Saturday led to a police chase on US-17 Alternate—his Mercedes struck an Infiniti, injuring one and killing a Summerville man. WCIV

- ➤ On Aug. 20, North Charleston Pops! Maestro Nick Palmer previewed the nonprofit’s new season during a Rotary Club meeting in Mount Pleasant—five concerts will start on Nov. 1 at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center with shows on Nov. 1, Dec. 20, Jan. 31, March 28 and April 25. He also noted that subscriptions will offer movie-rate ticket pricing and highlighted additional events like Jazz in the Park at Riverfront Park. Moultrie News

- ➤ MUSC’s Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program graduated its third cohort this August and received full accreditation from the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology—this confirms the program meets high academic and clinical standards.
