- ➤ Mount Pleasant officials said a lightning strike sparked a fire on the 700 block of Osprey Court Saturday—crews responded just after 1 p.m. and quickly extinguished the structure with no injuries reported. WCIV

- ➤ Candidate Mac Deford will host a town hall meeting at Mount Pleasant Town Hall on Aug.26 to offer Lowcountry residents a chance to ask questions and share concerns about future representation.
