- ➤ Coakley Chapel in Hamlin Beach was saved from potential development — local preservationists and private donors purchased the historic building that has served as a community meeting spot since the early 1900s. The Lowcountry Land Trust will transfer the property soon for use as a public park with trails and a fishing pond, and local volunteers will help restore it in time for its 145th anniversary next year. - ➤ On July 30, District 7770 Governor Sandy Morckel spoke at the Rotary Club of Mount Pleasant meeting and urged members to serve with intent while introducing Rotary International’s 'Unite for Good' theme for the 2025–26 fiscal year. She also encouraged Rotarians to support youth initiatives like the Interact Club+ and highlighted local community projects addressing hunger and mentoring youth. Moultrie News
