  • On July 26, Mount Pleasant police arrested driver Gabriel Morales after his 2014 Chevy Equinox veered off its lane on the Arthur Ravenel Jr - Bridge and nearly struck an officer, and he was charged with DUI 2nd after failing sobriety tests.  Moultrie News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Several Lowcountry school districts will start the school year on different dates, with Georgetown County beginning on August 1 and BCSD starting on August 13, while some schools will offer free breakfast and lunch through the federal program. Berkeley County will make campus changes and Charleston County will launch a new bus tracking app, FirstView, to provide live GPS tracking+ distance-based notifications for families.  WCIV

  • U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace is launching a statewide series of town halls in August called the MOTHER OF ALL TOWN HALLS—events where she will speak directly with residents. She said she may decide in the coming days to run for governor—citing her concerns about the state going woke.  WCBD
