- ➤ A study by Energy Innovation Policy & Technology shows that household electric bills in South Carolina will rise about $52.50 a month as the Big Beautiful Bill cuts federal tax credits for renewables—causing a delay in expected solar and wind projects. State-owned Santee Cooper plans to move ahead with building a new natural gas plant and expanding solar arrays to help meet rising energy demand. The Post and Courier
