- ➤ During a 10-day event, 2,416 dogs and cats were adopted from 91 shelters and rescue groups across South Carolina. The event delivered record 334 spay/neuter surgeries across seven counties — efforts that continue as shelters work to reduce over-capacity this summer. WCIV

- ➤ Today, Holy City Linen announced its expansion with a four point four million investment in new equipment at its North Charleston facility to boost its capacity to process 30 million pounds of laundry annually. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Diany Diaz, 18 from Summerville, was arrested Thursday for failing to stop for blue lights and fleeing deputies as she drove recklessly through neighborhoods including The Ponds—she finally stopped on Oak View Way and was taken to L.C. Knight Detention Center. WCIV
- ➤ A 23-year-old man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for brutally beating his girlfriend during an April 3, 2022 incident on Maybank Highway after heavy drinking and a suspected infidelity argument led him to crush a glass, strangle her, and threaten her with a knife—he was convicted on charges of assault and battery, kidnapping, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. - ➤ At the Wando Mount Pleasant Library, teen volunteers in grades 6 through 12 build real-world skills by organizing materials and supporting programs as part of the VolunTeens program. - ➤ Coast Guard Sector Charleston welcomed new commander Capt. Shawn Lansing, replacing outgoing Capt. Frank DelRosso—who had 36 years of service—at a ceremony on Friday morning. Capt.
