- ➤ Pet Helpers in Charleston is asking local residents to foster dogs after a broken air conditioning unit left about 40 dogs needing temporary homes, and applications are open today. Foster placements will begin Sunday, July 20 — all needed supplies are provided along with short-term cooling using portable units and fans. WCBD
- ➤ Pet Helpers urgently seeks temporary foster homes for 40 dogs after a critical air conditioning failure left them too hot during the summer. The organization says repairs may take several weeks and that foster families will receive care supplies + support as they help the dogs serve as adoption ambassadors. WCIV

- ➤ Buffalo Wild Wings will open its first Mount Pleasant location on Thursday, July 17 at 715 Johnnie Dodds Blvd.—the restaurant will take over the former Outback Steakhouse site that closed in March 2024, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony will start at 10:30 a.m. owned by Grube Inc., which runs 74 locations across nine states. - ➤ Mount Pleasant police reported that a bright yellow Wilderness Systems Tempest 17 kayak valued at about $2,100 was stolen from a trailer in a Shrimp Boat Lane parking lot between June 30 and July 3 when Nature Adventures of Shem Creek submitted a complaint, and the owner said it was the most expensive vessel in their collection. - ➤ South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced details Friday for a new Address Confidentiality Program that will provide substitute addresses for victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, stalking, harassment, and sexual offenses.
