BermudAir is expanding its once-weekly service from Charleston International Airport by adding flights on Thursdays and Sundays beginning August 7 and running through October—this change replaces the Saturday flight, which will run for the final time on August 2.

Flight times are set at 3:15 p.m.—4:45 p.m. from Bermuda to Charleston and 5:54 p.m.—8:55 p.m. for the return.

Government records show that Bhagavan 'Doc' Antle pleaded guilty to money laundering and trafficking endangered animals using cash from immigrant smuggling — he was sentenced to one year and one day in prison, must pay a $55,000 fine, turn himself in within 60 days, and forfeit three chimpanzees.

At Tuesday night meeting in Mount Pleasant, the Town Council voted 7—1 to oppose a compromise plan that would add a two-lane road along the edge of Laurel Hill Park for the Highway 41 Corridor Improvement Project.

More than 30 residents opposed the plan while project officials said the road is needed to improve traffic flow and secure state funding—leaving open the possibility for alternative proposals.
