- ➤ Greater Goodwill AME Church held its food truck rodeo on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 2818 N Hwy 17 in Mount Pleasant, where local food trucks, a kids zone with a jump castle, and fresh produce from Freeman Farms brought neighbors together. WCBD
- ➤ Lowcountry Food Bank announced Thursday that it received a $5,000 grant from CSX Transportation — the funds will support veterans facing food insecurity along coastal South Carolina. WCIV
- ➤ Coastal Community Foundation provided a $2 million impact investment to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston to support its expansion that will double capacity and eliminate the waiting list. The House expansion—having broken ground on June 26—is expected to complete in early 2027 and will save the charity over $150,000 in interest over five years. Moultrie News
- ➤ At his last meeting as Rotary Club of Mount Pleasant President, David Kent honored fellow Rotarians Allen Edwards and Lewis Lee with Rowing Society Awards for their work with the charity organization — Kevin Crosby was also applauded for being named Rotarian of the Year and for his efforts in recruiting new members and aiding transportation relief to Malawi.
