- ➤ A record 747 Charleston County School District students earned the SC Seal of Biliteracy in the 2024 to 2025 school year on June 24th—up from 435 last year. The Seal shows these students have strong skills in English and another language from among 12 studied languages and will appear on their graduation transcripts. Charleston County School District

- ➤ A fishing tournament honoring legendary captain David Redd kicks off today in Charleston’s offshore waters to raise funds for the South Carolina Memorial Reef— a man-made habitat for marine life. Anglers now compete for blue marlin, white marlin, sailfish, swordfish, tuna, wahoo, and dolphin in a no-kill event, with swordfish allowed under state rules. WCBD
