- ➤ The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office reported that an Amtrak train fatally hit a pedestrian on June 5—just before 10 p.m.—about one mile from the crossing at Highway 162 and Railroad Avenue in Ravenel, and the train did not derail or injure any passengers. The Post and Courier

- ➤ Sullivan's Island native Tony Romeo has planned to reexplore the landing spot for Amelia Earhart's wreckage next year after his 2024 expedition did not find any remains. His team used deep sea sonar to image the ocean floor near Kiribati—Romeo said an underwater landslide might have caused the plane to crash. Moultrie News
