- ➤ A packed meeting at St. George Middle School saw residents ask Google questions about its two new data centers that will create over 200 jobs & use water from Lake Marion with limited local impact, and Google said future meetings will keep locals informed about construction and community benefits. - ➤ Hundreds gathered on Friday night at Patriots Point as the USS Yorktown hosted a patriotic concert featuring country music star Brian Kelley – an event that launched America 250 summer celebrations and will include more activities throughout the year. WCIV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students at BBMA in Cane Bay, Mount Pleasant, and Folly Beach held change drive events in March and April to support pre- and postnatal care at Rotifunk Hospital in Sierra Leone, Africa. The Passport to Community program raised over $17,500 to help 175 new mothers. Moultrie News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A law firm for Charleston Waterkeeper sent a notice of intent to sue four companies along Cooper River for releasing nurdles that harm water quality and wildlife. The companies must address the issues within 60 days+ they may face federal legal action. WCIV
