- ➤ On May 7, teachers from TeachCharleston and CarolinaCAP were honored aboard the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point for completing their three-year certification programs plus earning rookie Teacher of the Year awards. The celebration took place in Mount Pleasant. Charleston County School District
- ➤ On May 8, Charleston County School District earned 18 awards in the SC Rewards for Excellence program, including Best in Show for West Ashley High School’s website and Photography awards, marking a seventh consecutive year of strong public relations. Charleston County School District
- ➤ Charleston County School District announced that Dr. Jamie McCarthy becomes Associate Superintendent for the Elementary Learning Community effective July 1 as she brings nearly two decades of leadership experience in local schools + proven results, while the district thanked outgoing leader Dr. Jennifer Swearingen for her dedicated service.
