  • Oliver’s Nannies is expanding inclusive childcare services for neurodiverse children in Mount Pleasant by matching families with tailored, vetted caregivers. The agency uses its proprietary Olico (system) to create custom care plans that celebrate each child’s unique strengths.  Moultrie News

  • Mount Pleasant's 16th Annual Business & Community Expo will be held on Sept. 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Omar Shrine at Patriots Point — presented by Crews Subaru. Over half the exhibitor spots are already booked, and booth rates will rise after Aug. 24.  Moultrie News

  • The Charleston County School District showed major progress as Superintendent Anita Huggins detailed teacher salary boosts, record National Merit semifinalists, and upcoming capital projects at a May 4 presentation in Mount Pleasant (including an $81 million recapitalization project and new pre-K plans).  Moultrie News
  • Charleston County School District named Tori Hopkins of C.E. Williams Middle School – North Campus as its inaugural School Counselor of the Year on Monday, May 2.   • On May 4, Mount Pleasant Town Council's Education Committee honored the East Cooper/St. James Santee Teachers of the Year for their hard work and positive impact on students from local schools.  Moultrie News
  • On May 4, 2026, CCSD honored four first-year teachers with Rookie Teacher of the Year awards at their schools (Drayton Hall Elementary, North Charleston Creative Arts Elementary, Morningside Middle, and R.B.   • The Charleston-area US Coast Guard Auxiliary is urging recreational boaters to follow safety tips as National Safe Boating Week will take place from May 16 to 22. It will offer safety courses and free Vessel Safety Checks to help boaters avoid preventable accidents.  Moultrie News

SPORTS NEWS

  • The South Carolina Stingrays beat the Atlanta Gladiators 4-2 in Game 6 of the South Division Semifinals on Monday night, clinching a playoff series win. They will face the Florida Everblades on May 8 at Hertz Arena * the series will be best-of-seven.  WCIV
  • The Charleston RiverDogs fell 6-3 to the Augusta GreenJackets Tuesday night at SRP Park after Charleston’s early lead slipped away, even though Caden Bodine had three hits and two RBIs; the teams will resume their series Wednesday morning at 11:05 a.m.  WCIV
