- ➤ On Saturday, bikers from the Lowcountry gathered for the Have A Heart 2025 Charity Ride to raise funds for Charlotte, a 6-year-old waiting for a heart transplant at MUSC. The ride started at American Biker in Ladson and crossed the Arthur Ravenel Bridge—helping raise over $2,000 for her family. WCIV
- ➤ Local beaches now enforce seasonal dog rules starting May 1, with varying hours for leash use and off-leash time at Folly Beach, Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island, Kiawah Island, Edisto Beach, and Seabrook Island + pet owners must also clean up after their animals. WCBD
- ➤ On May 2, Town officials kicked off Makers Mart at Park West Recreation Center when councilmembers John Iacofano and Daniel Brownstein joined staff and vendors in offering fresh farm products + ready-to-eat foods + unique handcrafted items. - ➤ Seven Lowcountry lacrosse programs competed for the state title this weekend—six earned a championship. Friday matches saw Porter-Gaud girls win 18-2 and boys win 16-5 over Heathwood Hall while Oceanside Collegiate won a 12-8 SCHSL 4A girls contest; Saturday play led to a 5A D-1 win by Dorman 1 and 5A D-II victories for Lucy Beckham teams over Nation Ford and Fort Mill.
