- ➤ Officials announced the Charleston Air Show (featuring the Blue Angels) will run Saturday, May 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. over the harbor. The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge and other roads will close during the event, and Mount Pleasant will follow protocols similar to past air shows. WCIV
- ➤ Charleston Moves has launched Mobility Month with a series of safe street events in May. Mount Pleasant residents can join the Fresh Paint Ride on May 2 along Coleman Boulevard over Shem Creek, with additional bike, walk, and audit events planned countywide. Moultrie News

- ➤ Charleston County School District announced that Bentli Lewis will be the new principal at Northwoods Middle School, effective July 1, 2026. Lewis, who previously led Oakbrook Middle School (Dorchester District Two) to improved performance and community trust, is expected to continue her success. Charleston County School District
- ➤ Charleston County School District announced that Dr. Keturah Planter will serve as Director of Alternative Programs within the Department of School Support and Community Engagement, effective July 1, as she leads efforts to bolster academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support for students - working with district and community partners. - ➤ Charleston County School District announced that Beth Jacobs—longtime assistant principal at Jennie Moore Elementary School for the Creative Arts—will be named principal effective July 1; she will lead academic and daily operations using her extensive experience in literacy programs and school culture. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Former Oceanside Collegiate offensive lineman Monroe Freeling was drafted by the Carolina Panthers at No. 19 overall, with Panthers GM Dan Morgan praising his size and versatility. Freeling celebrated the milestone from his Mount Pleasant home with family. The Post and Courier
- ➤ Caden Bodine had a career night with four hits and three RBIs as the RiverDogs rallied for a 10-9 win over the Cannon Ballers at Atrium Health Ballpark last Thursday.
