  • The Lowcountry Strawberry Festival at Boone Hall Plantation runs from April 4-6 and April 11-13 and offers live music, carnival rides, a petting zoo, contests, and u-pick strawberries with shows by magician Lance Gifford and the Pompeyo family. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Three collisions on Interstate 26 and Interstate 526 slowed traffic today as an eastbound crash closed a median shoulder near Aviation Avenue and a westbound collision shut two lanes near mile marker 211, while an incident on I-526 closed a lane on the Don Holt Bridge for about thirty minutes—traffic in Mount Pleasant remains stalled.  The Post and Courier

  • Charleston musician Brandon Lake announced a 48-city arena tour that will begin Oct. 2 in Sunrise, Florida and include stops in Orlando, Atlanta, Raleigh and Charlotte before adding home state dates in Columbia on Oct. 19, in Greenville on April 23 and ending in Charleston on May 1, 2026. The five-time Grammy winner, who last performed on Daniel Island in May 2024, revealed details about his album King of Hearts and will appear on American Idol on April 20 as fans can sign up for early ticket access.  WCBD
  • Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will host special programming on April 15 and 16 to honor the USS Laffey — known as The Ship That Would Not Die — with living history displays and a new exhibit on its role in the Battle of Okinawa. The museum will also hold a memorial ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on April 16 and offer guided tours that reveal ship damage while sharing stories from former crew members and historians.  Moultrie News

  • Hanahan Middle School was named a News 2 Cool School for its inclusive Special Education program that unites general and special education students through activities and music. The school also received the Mount Pleasant Police Department’s Special Olympics Polar Plunge Coolest School award for raising over $3,000 in consecutive efforts and runs a treat delivery program where special needs students share snacks and positive messages.  WCBD

  • A South Carolina bill under debate in a Senate committee would soon require anyone under 18 to get parent consent and pass age verification by using a government-issued ID—information that companies must delete after confirming a parent’s identity.
