  • The Charleston Fire Department recognized firefighter Kyle Bishop with a Commendation Award for his leadership during Hurricane Helene response on Sept. 26, 2024 in Greenville County, as he led a 12-member rescue team in swiftwater rescues + support operations amid challenging conditions.  WCIV
  • At the R.L. Jones Center, 9,000 sqft of barren land will soon become a food forest featuring tomatoes, cucumbers + native wildflowers. Local organizers plan a volunteer planting day on April 19 with Belle Hall Elementary students among those set to help.  Moultrie News

  • Ahead of Earth Day on Apr. 22, HYDRATE of the Carolinas (a Charleston-based business launched in 2025) is urging local offices to cut plastic waste by switching to its bottle-free water dispenser systems that connect directly to existing plumbing, reducing delivery needs and storage space.  Moultrie News

  • The College of Charleston introduced its new men’s and women’s basketball coaches on April 1 at TD Arena. John Groce left Akron for the role and former Clemson coach Amanda Butler pledged to build a competitive team & engage the local community.  WCIV
  • SK8 Charleston will host a Boardr Series skateboarding competition on April 25—open skate sessions kick off on April 24 at 5 p.m. at 1549 Oceanic Street, where a 32,000 sqft park will welcome skaters of all skill levels.  WCIV
