ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ March was the second driest on record with only 0.37 inches of rain, causing residents to water lawns and gardens to keep plants healthy. The National Weather Service and local experts advise steady watering as showers are expected later in the season (dry conditions may continue to stress the soil). WCIV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ At a public hearing in North Charleston Tuesday night, Dominion Energy customers testified against a nearly 12% rate increase that could add about $20 to monthly bills. Additional hearings are scheduled in Bluffton and Aiken as regulators review the proposal — customers are urged to use available assistance resources. WCIV
- ➤ Throughout April, St. John's Fire District is testing fire hydrants across the community to ensure proper function for emergencies. Residents may see fire vehicles near hydrants and brief water discoloration (run cold water until it clears) while driving near crews. WCIV

- ➤ Tomorrow, the RiverDogs open their 2026 season with a three-game series against the Pelicans at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park where fans can enjoy Thirsty Thursday $1 beers, a pregame parade, and patriotic fireworks as part of America 250 celebrations. WCIV
