  • Switch-a-Roos of Charleston is holding its free semi annual children’s consignment sale at the Omar Shrine Center, where families can find gently used clothing, toys, games and baby equipment that pass a 13 point inspection+ some items are priced as low as $1. The sale runs today through March 29 with hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.  WCIV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • James Beard award-winning chef Jason Stanhope will join Sullivan’s Seafood & Bar as co-owner and chef this spring after leaving his role at Southern tavern Lowland; he plans to gradually update the menu using local ingredients & local partnerships.  WCBD
  • Uptown Cheapskate will reopen its larger shop at 627 Johnnie Dodds Blvd on Friday, where shoppers can get cash for used clothes and 30% off dresses all weekend—the store will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.  WCIV

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Lowcountry Strawberry Festival will take place on April 4–6 and April 11–13 at Boone Hall Farms and will feature live entertainment and family activities from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Guests can enjoy events such as a chocolate strawberry tutorial, a petting zoo and a pie eating contest—admission costs $15 for ages 3 and up.  Moultrie News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State lawmakers and faith leaders met Wednesday morning (March 26) to back the Pray Safe Act, a bipartisan bill that will channel grant funding from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division to boost security at houses of worship after a rise in vandalism and religiously motivated crimes. The bill does not include enhanced punishments for hate crimes but will focus on strengthening security for faith communities.  WCIV

  • With 10 days until the Cooper River Bridge Run, OrangeTheory head coach Scott Russell advised runners to train outdoors, focus on dynamic warm ups, and stay well hydrated—he said these tips help adjust from treadmill workouts to race day challenges.  WCIV
  • Charleston Battery re-signed Charleston native Enzo Mori to a USL Academy contract—he will return for a second season as a goalkeeper to gain professional experience while keeping his college eligibility.  WCIV
  • Credit One Charleston Open will use Electronic Line Calling Live technology from March 29 to April 6, making it the first clay tournament on the Hologic WTA Tour to adopt this system (it will provide more accurate and consistent calls for both qualifying and main draw matches). Tournament Director Bob Moran said the change will let players compete with fewer interruptions.  WCIV
