- ➤ Dominion Energy is asking regulators to approve an 11% rate increase that could add about $20 to monthly bills for many families. Public hearings will be held in North Charleston as the Public Service Commission plans to decide later this spring with changes set to begin this summer. WCIV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Charleston Chapter of Chums awarded $17,000 in STEAM grants to nine local nonprofits to boost creativity in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics — future applicants can submit funding requests from September to December with awards announced in January. WCIV
- ➤ Students from the College of Charleston Run Club are training each morning on scenic Charleston streets as they prepare for this weekend's Cooper River Bridge Run. Their practice builds healthy habits and improves focus for school success. WCIV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Chris Mack stepped down as head men's basketball coach at College of Charleston after a 45-20 record in two seasons to take the same role at South Florida. Collegiate Sports Associates will assist in the search for his replacement. WCIV
