- ➤ Run Club Charleston is building community with its Build to Bridge program as runners of all levels train for the Cooper River Bridge Run scheduled for March 28. The club partnered with MAD Park to support healthy habits (helping beginners and veterans alike). WCIV
- ➤ The Cooper River Bridge Run on March 28 will feature a fundraising campaign called Bridge the Gap where runners can collect donations to raise $30,000 for Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary to support over 200 animals needing care (including food, medical services, and spay/neuter procedures). WCIV

- ➤ Charleston County Parks hosts April events including Toast Under the Oaks and Starlight Yoga on April 2, the Lowcountry Cajun Festival on April 18, Dancing on the Cooper on April 24, and Yappy Hour on April 29, offering local live music, yoga, and family fun at varied outdoor venues. - ➤ Ten Buist Academy students placed at the SC HOSA State Leadership Conference on Mar 20 + qualified for the International Leadership Conference in Indianapolis from June 17 to 20. - ➤ Ellen Weaver, the state superintendent, will join students from Lucy Beckham High School on March 25 at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum as part of National Medal of Honor Day observances. - ➤ Charleston Waterkeeper opened its new lab (630 sqft) to speed up water testing at 12 local sites. Volunteers now analyze microplastics with microscopes and special equipment funded by grants from Volvo, Bosch, and Healthy Harbor Fund. WCIV

- ➤ College of Charleston women lost 81-64 to Duke in their NCAA Tournament debut as Taryn Barbot scored 36 points. Charleston County Council approved a $245 million Highway 41 project to acquire portions of 172 properties for road widening between U.S. 17 and the Wando River. The Post and Courier
- ➤ Charleston County emergency leaders unveiled a new ambulance bus on Saturday that can serve as several ambulances during mass casualty events * it was designed to keep other areas covered during large gatherings. WCIV
- ➤ Charleston County has repurposed a former mobile library into a mass casualty response bus (with $199,051 in funding) that holds 22 patients. Unveiled March 20 outside the county administration in North Charleston, it will reach emergencies in about 10 minutes during large festivals. The Post and Courier

- ➤ Mount Pleasant drivers will face road closures for the 2026 Cooper River Bridge Run beginning Friday, March 27 with delays on Coleman Blvd — Saturday morning closures will also affect the Arthur Ravenel Bridge and nearby roads. Runners can use designated garages for overnight parking at a $10 fee. WCIV
