  • Liberty Senior Living hosted its annual Liberty Games for seniors from March 18th to March 20th, with nine communities competing in events like shot put, water balloon drop, and brain games to promote physical and mental well-being. Haley Kinne-Norris said the event built friendly relationships among residents and top competitors received ribbons and medals—fostering a sense of unity.  WCIV

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A driver died Wednesday after the car left Highway 45 in McClellanville, hit several trees, and ejected the sole occupant (the coroner’s office will identify the driver later) as deputies responded around 6 p.m. and the crash remains under investigation.  WCBD

  • A Mount Pleasant woman lost $43,900 on March 12 after a scammer posing as an Apple employee convinced her to send cash, gift cards, Bitcoin and Coin Flip transfers—police said she provided further evidence at her residence and closed her bank account.  Moultrie News
  • A Huger man accused of impersonating an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer was excused from his court appearance today after a viral video showed him allegedly taking a driver's keys—raising safety concerns in the Hispanic community.  WCIV

CULTURE NEWS

  • Volunteers will soon stock more than 2,000 fish in the Sewee Visitor and Environmental Education Center pond for the Bulls Bay Nature and Heritage Festival, which will be held on May 17 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will offer free activities like beehive demonstrations, bird banding, family fishing, archery practice, and an art contest along with food trucks and live music for visitors of all ages.  Moultrie News

  • A bat found near Ranger Drive and Mikey Road in Cross tested positive for rabies after being submitted for testing on March 17—its result confirmed Tuesday—and three individuals who were exposed were referred to healthcare providers.  WCIV

  • Academic Magnet High School will hold its 12th annual PinkStrong soccer game to honor Ben Pinkerton (the Pink in PinkStrong) and raise funds and awareness for colorectal cancer.
