- ➤ A white Volvo driven by William Foster (59) drove around stop bars and collided with an Amtrak train in Moncks Corner (around 7:20 p.m. on Mar. 12th), killing him and critically injuring a 15-year-old passenger while crews repaired the intersection as the investigation continued. WCBD

- ➤ An officer and a civilian were injured in a police shooting at the Plaza at East Cooper on March 18 when police responded to an indecent exposure call— the officer was later released from MUSC amid an ongoing SLED investigation. The Post and Courier

- ➤ Spoleto Festival USA announced that its season will include the play Remember This: The Lesson of Jan Karski, with four performances at the College of Charleston’s Sottile Theatre from June 5 to 8 — while Indian Ink Theater Company’s Mrs. Krishnan's Party has moved to The Riviera for five family-friendly shows from June 6 to 8. - ➤ Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum — home to the USS Yorktown — partnered with the University of South Carolina Libraries to present a special screening of rare Vietnam War combat footage on March 29, with library representatives on board from 1 to 5 p.m. A memorial ceremony for Vietnam veterans is scheduled at 11 a.m. inside the Vietnam Experience Exhibit and the museum will launch a new digital collection featuring artifacts related to Navy corpsman James Doc Pueschel.
