- ➤ Make-A-Wish South Carolina’s Wish Night 2026 raised over $1.2 million on March 14 at Wild Dunes Resort, funding 165 wishes for children facing critical illnesses. Paradigm Therapeutics has committed as the presenting sponsor for next year’s gala on March 13. Moultrie News
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in South Carolina have surged to an average of $3.38 per gallon Monday (a significant jump from last month) as rising tensions in the Middle East push fuel costs higher. Recent GasBuddy reports show similar national increases that could affect local drivers soon. WCIV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Friday, March 13, 2026 the Charleston Chapter of The Links hosted the Real Men Read to Scholars event at Chicora Elementary where male volunteers read with fourth and fifth graders. Scholars left the session with a complimentary bag of popcorn + a book to grow their home libraries. Charleston County School District
- ➤ Preschoolers at Primrose School in Mount Pleasant delivered 814 books to Charleston Friends of the Library as part of Og’s Bountiful Book Drive. The drive, which honors National Reading Month and Og the Bookworm, has seen over 387,600 books donated from Primrose schools nationwide since 2021. Moultrie News

- ➤ Organizers announced that Shokz is the official headphone partner for the upcoming Cooper River Bridge Run, marking the 49th annual race. Packet pickup is scheduled on March 26 from noon to 8 p.m., and March 27 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., while registration remains open. WCIV
