- ➤ One80 Place has launched a Capacity Building Institute to help youth homelessness nonprofits in the Lowcountry strengthen leadership and communication. The first cohort with teams from Charleston County Public Library, Young Moms Together, and others begins in February — two more cohorts are planned over the next 18 months. Moultrie News
- ➤ At the Feb. 18 Rotary Club meeting in Mount Pleasant, new members received blue badges after completing committee service, club projects, and networking tasks. Club leaders Kevin Crosby and Rotary President Ken Tallmadge were also present. Moultrie News
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Some Dominion Energy customers in Mount Pleasant saw their January bills nearly double from about $300 to over $600, a jump Dominion attributes to 14 nights below freezing (utility statement). They expressed concern as they brace for further rate increases later this year. WCIV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Trident Technical College’s Registered Nursing graduates earned a 96.22% NCLEX pass rate (229 of 238), far exceeding state and national averages, while Practical Nursing graduates achieved a 100% rate with all 34 scoring perfectly. These results show the college’s strong academic and clinical preparation. Moultrie News

- ➤ Mount Pleasant Hospital earned the ANCC’s Magnet with Distinction designation on Friday, making it one of 11 hospitals in SC with the honor — a rare achievement for high-quality nursing care. The hospital team celebrated the recognition and their commitment to excellent patient care at their local facility. WCIV
