- ➤ On April 13, the Charleston County Parks Foundation will host a golf tournament at Charleston National Golf Club in Mount Pleasant to raise funds for park projects. Practice runs from 8–9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. and entry fees of $160 per person or $600 per team. Moultrie News
- ➤ The Rotary Club of Mount Pleasant donated a $1,000 check to Meals on Wheels Feeding Friends at its Feb. 18 meeting — the organization formerly known as East Cooper Meals on Wheels rebranded during the event. George Roberts and Rotary officials highlighted the updated name and ongoing fundraising efforts. Moultrie News

- ➤ Rep. Jim Clyburn held a Q&A session at town hall in Mount Pleasant on Feb. 14 to discuss his new book (The First Eight) about pioneering Black congressmen who shaped public education and civic life. Moultrie News

- ➤ CCSD Education Foundation has launched Community Voices for CCSD Schools to gather local input on school needs and opportunities. Public town-hall sessions will be held at local schools starting Tuesday, Feb. 24 and continue through April. Charleston County School District

- ➤ Dr. Millin Budev co-founded Carolina Cataract and Laser Center in 2008 to offer patient-first eye care throughout the Lowcountry — the center uses advanced technology in cataract and glaucoma procedures and plans future mission trips for expert vision care. Moultrie News

- ➤ William Means Real Estate achieved record breaking $452 million in sales during 2025 by selling 279 homes across luxury markets (including the top Mount Pleasant property at 126 Hibben St) and bolstered its reputation as a leading boutique firm. Moultrie News
