- ➤ Charleston Habitat for Humanity launched ‘Match Made in Charleston’ to match donations dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000 from Feb. 9 through Valentine’s Day to help local families secure affordable homes (the campaign offers donors double impact). WCIV
- ➤ Mount Pleasant held a ribbon-cutting on Feb. 9 at Thomas Cario Middle School to celebrate a new baseball field. The synthetic field, built through a town and county school district partnership, will support baseball, football and soccer — keeping kids active even after rain. Moultrie News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Little Learners Lodge, a community childcare center and Montessori school at 208 Church St., celebrated its 50th anniversary on Feb. 6 with a ribbon-cutting attended by former and current staff, students and local officials. Owners David and Nicole Vigliotti continue to offer innovative early learning programs for young children. Moultrie News
- ➤ Palmetto Christian Academy in Mount Pleasant was named to the AP Program School Honor Roll, earning the Platinum distinction (the highest honor awarded) for its high-performing AP courses; 90% of seniors scored 3 or higher on their AP exams, officials said. Moultrie News
