➤ On Feb. 7, Rotary club members gathered at Lowcountry Food Bank in Mount Pleasant to bag savory sweet potatoes that were donated to needy families in Greater Charleston. Moultrie News
➤ Lowcountry Veterans Homes held the second Vibes for Vets fundraiser on Daniel Island Saturday to support unhoused veterans by raising essential funds for housing and benefits. Musicians and organizers praised the event and hope for another round soon. WCIV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

➤ A 2.9-magnitude earthquake struck Dorchester County at 10:37 p.m. Feb. 7, with residents in Goose Creek, Hanahan, Ladson and Summerville reporting pops and shakes. USGS said the quake’s center was less than 4 miles south-southeast of Centerville (close to Ladson) and it will be monitored for further activity. The Post and Courier
