  • Suzanne Rhodes was officially inducted into the Rotary Club of Mount Pleasant on Jan. 14 after being sworn in by Rotary President Ken Tallmadge. Rhodes was recognized for her good character, service mindset, meeting financial obligations (dues) and commitment to weekly meetings and service projects.  Moultrie News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Dominion Energy offers tips to help local residents cut heating costs as temperatures drop. The company advises lowering thermostats to 68 degrees, replacing air filters monthly, and sealing drafts with caulk or weather-stripping — options available through payment plans and energy assistance.  WCIV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Charleston Animal Society reminds Mount Pleasant pet owners that as temperatures plunge tonight, dog walks should be shortened, cats kept indoors, and cars started only after checking underneath to protect hidden pets (owners with small, young, or diabetic animals should be extra cautious).  WCIV
