- ➤ Lowcountry Food Bank announced its 27th annual Chefs' Feast gala will take place on Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. at Trident Technical College Thornley Campus in North Charleston & more than 400 guests will join local chefs and community partners to support childhood hunger programs. Moultrie News
- ➤ Phillips Community residents began cleaning hazardous sidewalks on Highway 41 on Jan. 11 to clear mud, shattered glass, and overgrowth that forces pedestrians onto narrow grass strips near fast traffic. Councilmember John Iacofano is working with the county to ensure regular maintenance. Moultrie News
- ➤ Mount Pleasant Towne Centre offers a spring lineup with Pup Bowl IX on Feb. 7 from 12 to 3 p.m. featuring adoptable pups and live music, and upcoming events like Barks and Bingo, ArtFest, the SWEAT series, Play Dayz and Live Under The Oaks add fun for all ages. Moultrie News
- ➤ Front Beach Fest returns on March 7 from noon to 4 p.m. on Ocean Boulevard at Isle of Palms. The free event offers live music (from The Casual Suspects and The Yacht Club), arts and crafts from over 40 local vendors, and food stands for all ages. Moultrie News
- ➤ Fifteen-year-old Rickie E (who prefers to be called Nepp) is seeking a forever home through the foster care system in Mount Pleasant; sponsored by Attorney Trey Harrell of 4Ever Families, she hopes to be welcomed into a caring family. WCIV

- ➤ Spoleto Festival USA will run from May 22 to June 7 in Charleston with over 100 performances across opera, dance, theater and jazz. Tickets go on sale Jan. 30, and festival donors get early access—marking the nation’s 250th anniversary with themed art and community programming. WCIV

- ➤ Lawyer Lisa Hostetler Brown from Mount Pleasant explained the Big Beautiful Bill Act—passed July 4—which makes key tax rules permanent by updating deductions for seniors and boosting SALT limits.
