➤ On Jan. 3, Rotary Club of Mount Pleasant worked with Lowcountry Food Bank staff to pack food boxes with healthy items (chicken, milk, beans, green beans, rice, cereal, oatmeal), producing multiple pallets. Rotary will return for the Food Bank's (Backpack Buddies) event on Feb. 6 in North Charleston. Moultrie News

➤ Saltwater Cowboys, a waterfront dining destination on historic Shem Creek, will close from Jan. 5–12 for its first major renovation since 2017; guests can order from The Wagon on Mill Street and it will reopen Jan. 13 with updated features to its kitchen, dining room and bar. Moultrie News
