Peter Anthony Fine Art Announces Solo Exhibition with Andrew Hayes

Peter Anthony Fine Art presents, The Edges and Understanding, a solo exhibition by artist Andrew Hayes. The collection will feature sculptures using steel and book paper, created in his Asheville, NC studio.

You are invited to the opening reception Friday, November 6th, from 5-7 PM at Peter Anthony Fine Art on 15 Broad Street, Charleston, SC .

Hayes works with two materials that carry distinctly different associations in everyday life: book paper and steel. He removes pages from old, discarded books, freeing the individual steels from their bindings and exploring the sculptural possibilities of the unbounded paper. Through this process, Hayes transforms a familiar material into unexpected forms. Steel provides the underlying structure and support, creating a contrast between the strength and permanence of the metal and fragility of the paper.
