This month, we're chatting about Tempest https://bookshop.org/a/89/9780063451360 by Victoria Aveyard
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Red Queen, this new novel promises high-stakes adventure, complicated characters, and PIRATES. Cat Rose has already lived two lives: first as Lady Catrine Rose of the powerful Meridian Empire, trapped in a miserable marriage, and now as the Widow Rose, proprietor of a pirate tavern in the Lyrian Sea. But when the Empire launches a brutal campaign to destroy the pirate republic, Cat's hard-won freedom is suddenly at risk.
At the center of the resistance is legendary pirate captain Valerian Kane-the one man capable of uniting the remaining pirates, the Empire's most dangerous enemy. When the Empire gives Cat an ultimatum-deliver Valerian or face the gallows-she's forced into a deadly game of loyalty, survival, and betrayal.Main
