About this event
Home to the earliest pottery in North America and Indigenous sites such as Late Archaic shell rings, Woodland and Mississippian mounds, and much more, the Carolina Lowcountry has been occupied by Native peoples for over 14,000 years. Today archaeologists and Tribal authorities continue to study the rich indigenous history of the Lowcountry through archaeology. Join us as we explore South Carolina’s diverse Indigenous past through the artifacts, traditions, and history of the Native peoples that have called the Lowcountry home for millennia.
